Where we jump

Where can I skydive in Western Australia?

We jump at Hillman Farm Airport near Darkan, in the Wheatbelt south-east of Perth. It's an inland airfield, so there's less of the coastal wind and cloud that holds up jumping near the beach, and skydivers have been jumping here since 1975. Pick your town for drive times and a day-trip plan.

Quick answers

Skydiving in WA: your questions

Where can I go skydiving in WA?

The Skydive School jumps at Hillman Farm Airport near Darkan, 2.5 hours from Perth and 1.5 hours from Bunbury. We run tandem skydives and learn-to-skydive (AFF) courses Wednesday to Sunday, all year, except our Christmas break from 21 December to 5 January.

How much does a tandem skydive cost in WA?

A tandem skydive at The Skydive School is $399 from 8,000 ft or $489 from 14,000 ft. Video is $179 (Handicam) or $289 (Handicam plus an outside camera flyer). Book online or call us.

How much does it cost to learn to skydive in WA?

The AFF Starter (first 3 stages) is $2,190, the full 10-stage AFF course is $3,635 including accommodation, and Fly With Friends, which takes you to your A-Licence, is from $5,610. Here's the full cost breakdown.

How far is skydiving from Perth?

Hillman Farm is about 2.5 hours from Perth by car, via Albany Highway through Williams. Most people come for the day; see our Perth day-trip guide.

Can you skydive in WA all year, including winter?

Yes. We jump Wednesday to Sunday in every month, and we're the only WA dropzone running AFF all year. Being inland means fewer of the coastal wind and cloud holds. If a day isn't safe to jump, we reschedule you.

How old do you have to be to skydive in WA?

You need to be at least 16 for a tandem or an AFF course, and under 18s need written consent from a parent or guardian. There's no upper age limit if you're fit and healthy; if you have a medical condition, call us before you book.

How high do you jump from?

Tandems jump from 8,000 ft or 14,000 ft, and 14,000 ft gives you around 60 seconds of freefall. AFF students jump from full altitude on their first stage with two instructors beside them.

Do I need to do a tandem before learning to skydive?

No. You can start the AFF course without ever having done a tandem. Plenty of our students do a tandem first for the experience, and that's fine too.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Skydiving depends on the weather. If it isn't safe to jump we move you to another day, and because we're inland that happens less often than on the coast. We'll be in touch before you drive out if the forecast looks doubtful.

I'm already a licensed skydiver. Can I jump at Hillman Farm?

Yes. Fun jumps are $105 including gear hire or $70 with your own rig, and hop and pops are $45 with your own gear. If it's been a while, our recurrency course gets you current again, and licensed jumpers can progress to wingsuiting. See the price list.
