Where can I do a tandem skydive near Perth and Bunbury?
At The Skydive School, Hillman Farm Airport in Darkan WA, just over 2 hours from Perth and about 1.5 hours from Bunbury. It's the closest 14,000ft tandem dropzone to Bunbury, and our inland airfield has fewer weather holds than coastal dropzones.

If you're 16 or older and up to 100 kg, you can book online in a few minutes.

How far is Hillman Farm from Perth and Bunbury?
Just over 2 hours from Perth and about 1.5 hours from Bunbury, on a scenic drive through the Wheatbelt. Most people make a day of it.

Is tandem skydiving safe?
Every jump follows Australian Parachute Federation (APF) standards. You're harnessed to an APF-certified instructor the whole way, and the equipment has an automatic activation device (AAD), a backup that deploys the reserve parachute if needed. Our Chief Instructor has 25+ years of experience, and we don't jump if the weather is unsafe.
How long does a tandem skydive take?
The briefing takes about 20 minutes. Freefall lasts up to 60 seconds at around 200 km/h, followed by a 5 to 7 minute parachute ride. With the drive (just over 2 hours from Perth, about 1.5 hours from Bunbury), most people make a day of it.
Who can do a tandem skydive?
Anyone 16 or older (under 18s need written parental or guardian consent on the day) who weighs up to 100 kg and is medically fit. No experience is needed and there's no upper age limit. If you're close to the weight limit, call us before you book.
How do I book a tandem skydive?

What happens if the weather is bad, or I can't make it?
If it's unsafe to skydive, we stay on the ground and reschedule you to the next available date or refund you. If you don't turn up and don't tell us, your booking is forfeited, so please call if your plans change.
What's the difference between a tandem skydive and learning to skydive?
On a tandem ($399 to $489) your instructor handles everything and no training is needed. Learning to skydive (AFF) means flying your own parachute from jump one, with two instructors beside you in freefall. The full 5-day course is $3,635. Tandem AFF (Stage 1) at $949 sits in between. Why are there fewer weather holds at an inland dropzone?
Coastal dropzones deal with sea breezes and gusty wind changes that cause holds and cancellations. The flat inland terrain at Darkan gives more consistent winds, so your jump is more likely to go ahead on the day you book.
Where can I skydive south of Perth?
At Hillman Farm Airport, Darkan WA, the only dedicated skydiving school in the South West. It's about 1.5 hours from Bunbury, about 2 hours from Mandurah and just over 2 hours from Rockingham and Perth, and we welcome jumpers from Busselton, Collie, Harvey, Narrogin, Bridgetown and Margaret River.
Can you tandem skydive year-round in Western Australia?
Yes. We jump Wednesday to Sunday, all year round. The Skydive School is the only full skydiving training facility in WA open year-round.
