Skydiving All Year Round – When’s the Best Time to Jump?

At The Skydive School, we skydive all year round! Whether you’re here for a tandem skydive or signing up for the AFF course, each season has its own unique conditions. We’re weather-dependent, meaning we wait for good conditions to jump safely – but when the skies open up, it’s worth every second!

🌨 Winter – Smooth Skies & Crystal-Clear Views

If you’re wondering when the best skydiving conditions are, winter takes the top spot. Cooler air means smoother freefall, stable canopy rides, and incredible visibility. The only catch? It’s a bit chilly at altitude, but a couple of base layers and you’re sorted!

✔ Less turbulence = smoother flying & better landings
✔ Incredible views over WA with crisp, clear skies
✔ Perfect learning conditions for AFF students

❄ Pro tip: Bring gloves and an extra layer, and you’ll be warm and comfortable!

Spring & Autumn – The Perfect Balance

Spring and autumn offer the best of both worlds – mild temperatures, stable conditions, and stunning scenery. If you’re looking for comfortable, consistent jumping conditions, these seasons are ideal for AFF courses and tandem jumps alike.

✔ Comfortable temps – no extra layers needed
✔ Stable conditions – great for learning & experienced jumpers
✔ Epic views – WA’s landscapes are at their best

Summer – Warm Days, Big Skies & A Whole Lot of Fun

Summer is an awesome time to skydive, but it does mean we may have to wait for good conditions. Warmer air creates thermals, which can lead to bumpy conditions under canopy, so we jump when it’s safe and smooth.

While waiting for the perfect conditions, there’s plenty to do at the dropzone – relax in the bunkhouse, enjoy the sauna, chat with skydivers, or hang out and soak up the atmosphere.

✔ Plenty of sunshine & long jumping days
✔ Great for fun jumpers & AFF students
✔ Chilled-out dropzone vibes while waiting for conditions to improve

Pro tip: Morning jumps are often cooler & calmer, making them ideal for students!

Weather-Dependent Skydiving – Safety First!

For any skydive, we need good conditions – we won’t send you up unless it’s safe and the experience will be amazing. Whether you’re doing AFF or a tandem, we monitor the weather closely to ensure you get the best jump possible.

If we have to wait for the right conditions, don’t stress – there’s always a good crew and a great atmosphere at the dropzone while we wait for the skies to clear.

Ready to Jump? We’re Open All Year!

No matter the season, we’re skydiving every week. Whether you’re looking for the best learning conditions in winter, the perfect balance in spring/autumn, or an action-packed summer, we’ve got you covered!
