Perth to Hillman Farm, the easy way
It's highway most of the way, then half an hour of quiet country road to finish. Here's the run.
Head down Albany Highway
From the city, head out through Armadale and follow Albany Highway south. Google Maps puts it at about 206 km and 2 hours 20 minutes from the CBD, and a bit less if you're coming from the southern suburbs.
Pull up in Williams
Williams is the natural pit stop. Grab a coffee and a feed at the Williams Woolshed, right on the highway, then it's about 30 minutes (38 km) to us along Williams-Darkan Road.
Leave a bit of buffer
Roadworks, a slow truck or a second coffee all add up, so leave a little earlier than you think you need to. Running behind? Give us a call on 0415 486 422.
Close the gate behind you
You'll come in through a farm gate, so do the country thing and close it behind you. Then park up, say g'day and we'll look after the rest.

Why Perth people head down south to jump
A skydive is a big day out, so it's worth doing it somewhere that gets it right. Here's what's waiting at the end of the drive.
The only dropzone south of Perth
If you want to skydive anywhere south of the city, Hillman Farm is it. People have been jumping here since 1975, which makes it Australia's longest-running dropzone. The view from 14,000ft is pure Wheatbelt: paddocks and bush as far as you can see.
Nervous as? You're in good hands
No experience needed. You're harnessed to an APF-certified instructor for the whole jump, and with small groups there are no crowds and no rushed exits. We'll talk you through every step, and there's no such thing as a silly question.
Make a proper day of it
Bring the crew to watch you land (here's our guide for spectators), then grab a feed at the Darkan pub after your jump, or stop at the Williams Woolshed on the drive. Want an early start? You can camp at the airfield the night before.

How far is The Skydive School from Perth?
About 206 km from the Perth CBD, or roughly 2 hours 20 minutes by car via Albany Highway (Google Maps, normal traffic). It's a bit quicker from the southern suburbs.
Where exactly are you?
We're the skydiving school for Perth and the South West, based at Hillman Farm Airport near Darkan WA 6392. Search "The Skydive School" in Google Maps and it will take you to the airfield. There's more on our Where We Are page.
Can I do it as a day trip from Perth?
Yes. Plenty of people drive down, jump and head home the same day. Allow a few hours at the airfield for your briefing, gearing up, the aircraft schedule and the weather, on top of the drive each way.
How much does a tandem skydive cost?
$399 from 8,000ft (about 20 seconds of freefall) or $489 from 14,000ft (up to 60 seconds). Your gear, briefing and APF-certified instructor are included. See all our prices.
Who can do a tandem?
No experience needed. You need to be 16 or older (with parental consent if you're under 18) and up to 100 kg. On the day of your skydive you'll sign waivers and become a member of the Australian Parachute Federation.
What days do you jump?
Wednesday to Sunday, all year round.
Can I stay the night?
