LEARN TO SKYDIVE

Accelerated Freefall is the best way to become a licensed skydiver!

LEARN TO SKYDIVE  – WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) is a dynamic and comprehensive training program that fast-tracks individuals into the thrilling world of solo skydiving.  AFF is the gateway to exhilarating skydiving adventures.

What is AFF

Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) is an advanced and highly structured training program designed for individuals aspiring to become certified skydivers. Unlike traditional methods, AFF enables students to experience solo freefall from the very beginning, under the guidance of certified instructors. The program consists of a series of levels, each building upon the skills learned in the previous one. Students undergo rigorous ground instruction and make a series of jumps, progressively gaining mastery over essential skydiving techniques, including body positioning, altitude awareness, stability, and canopy control.

1 – Skydiving Online Training Program
Upon registering for our introductory skydiving course, you’ll receive exclusive access to our online training resources. These materials are designed to equip you with essential knowledge before attending the in-person ground school. The online course spans approximately 3 hours and can be completed at your convenience.

2 – Ground School
The Ground School takes place at Hillman Farm Skydiving Club, Australia’s premier sports jumping dropzone, boasting the country’s longest dedicated facility for sport skydiving. This comprehensive day-long session will acquaint you with various aspects, including an introduction to the dropzone, an overview of the Australian Parachute Federation (APF) structure, in-depth insights into skydiving equipment and its proper usage, familiarisation with aircraft and related procedures, handling emergencies, mastering stability in freefall, understanding freefall procedures, deployment, and emergency protocols. The curriculum also covers essential topics such as recognizing a well-functioning parachute, addressing routine opening problems, canopy control, final approach, and landing techniques.

3 – AFF Course
Upon successful completion of the ground school, you’ll be eligible to commence the Accelerated Freefall (AFF) course at The Skydive School, a thrilling journey consisting of ten instructional skydives across nine stages.

Stages one to three involve jumps with two instructors from up to 14,000 feet. Experience nearly a minute of freefall before deploying and piloting your own parachute for approximately five minutes, guided by radio assistance for a safe landing.

In stages four to eight, you transition to solo jumps with only one instructor. Exiting at up to 14,000 feet, you’ll explore advanced freefall techniques, including directional changes, flying toward your instructor, executing manoeuvres like backflips in freefall and tracking (horizontal movement in body flight), and mastering speed adjustments and stable on height deployments.

Under your canopy, you’ll progressively showcase your navigation and landing skills, evolving to complete independence.

Stage Nine involves two jumps from lower altitudes—5500 feet and 4500 feet—preparing you for the scenario of evacuating the aircraft from a lower height.

Your AFF course progress will be recorded in your skydiving logbook by your instructors. Jumps will be filmed for debriefing purposes, and if you provide a storage device, the footage is available for you to take home.

Completion of the AFF course is a crucial step toward achieving your skydiving certification.
